Former VP Boakai Donates Ferry to Rivercess County
Monrovia – May 7, 2021: Former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has donated a ferry to Rivercess County. The donation was made through his Foundation to the people of Rivercess County today.
Performing the official dedication at his Rehab resident this morning, the former Vice President said development is his concentration and part of his commitment.
According to the former VP, the ferry is priced at US$ 83,000 and it is expected to enhance the movement of people and goods between Rovercess and Neighboring counties and will boost economic activities, promote trade and commerce in the region
He pledged to work to execute similar projects in other parts of the country to ease transportation difficulties for citizens, who use canoes to move from one county to another.
The Unity Party’s standard- bearer said the initiative has nothing to do with elections, but it comes out of a promise made to the county in 2017.
Senator Geevon Smith received the donation on behalf of his county and thanked the Unity Party political leader for the kind gesture.
The former vice president then advised the citizens to put in place a system that will maintain the ferry.
