Ex-VP Boakai Sets to Receive Africa Democracy Award

The Standard Bearer of the Unity Party, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, has been nominated to receive the prestigious Africa Democracy Icon Award in Abuja, Nigeria, on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

The Chief Executive Officer of Democracy Heroes Africa (DHA) Tenth Edition, Olufunsho A. Ajagbonna, in a communication addressed to the former Vice President of Liberia unveiled that he was selected for his numerous performances and quality delivery of excellent services both in Liberia and the world at large.

In the communication, the organizers noted that Amb. Boakai was nominated for being an “astute public service personality with unbeatable track record, and a leader with reputable standard.”

The organizers of the Award FDN Projects, in their letter noted that recipients were chosen based upon a democratic process through nominations and screening.

When awarded, this will mark the second international award the former VP has received in 2022. Recently he was honored by the Noble Dynastic order of Roma for his dedicated work over the years to the people of Liberia and humanity.

The Grand Master Valentino Zanzarell during the ceremony Italy indicated, that he was ”honored and had the pleasure” to have received the Unity Party’s leader at their headquarters “given the institutional merits he has had”.
