Liberia Has Drastically Retrogressed Under President Weah, Says Boakai

In a recent speech, former Vice President Joseph Boakai criticized President George Weah, saying that Liberia has “drastically retrogressed” under his leadership.

Boakai, who is the standard-bearer of the Unity Party and is running for president in the upcoming 2023 elections, said that Weah has failed to deliver on his promises. He pointed to the high rate of unemployment, the declining economy, and the increase in crime as evidence of Weah’s failures.

Boakai also accused Weah of corruption. He said that Weah has enriched himself and his family at the expense of the Liberian people.

Liberia has drastically retrogressed under President Weah,” Boakai said. “He has failed to deliver on his promises. He has enriched himself and his family at the expense of the Liberian people. I will rescue Liberia from this mess.

Boakai’s speech was well-received by his supporters. They cheered and chanted his name as he spoke.

The speech was also seen as a major challenge to Weah’s re-election bid. Weah is facing increasing criticism for his handling of the economy and the security situation in Liberia.
