Boakai’s ARTS Platform: A New Vision for Liberia
Former Vice President Joseph Nyumah Boakai has unveiled his new platform branded as “ARTS” (Agriculture, Roads, Tourism and Sanitation).
He stated that unlike his previous plan, which was similar to the current government with focus on roads, he will endeavor to focus on these four pillars if elected President of Liberia to make the difference.
Speaking on Sky FM – 50-50 talk show in Monrovia, the former vice president stressed that agriculture is the pillar to fast development while roads are the machine that will drive the development of the country forward.
As for tourism and sanitation, he emphasized that they are the virgin golden mines that remain untapped and if utilized will take the country to another level, especially with beautification and the creation of more jobs for the young people.
He promised to work harder in order to sell his new political agenda to the Liberian people for the betterment of the country.
At the same time, the former vice president named insecurity, untold hardship, lawlessness and poor governance as lapses and serious challenges the current government headed by President George Weah is allegedly struggling to address.
Ambassador Boakai claimed that insecurity is now the order of the day as there is no proper system for the rule of law as people are dying mysteriously.
“Everyone is doing their own thing, police have not been properly taking care of things. You hardly see them in the streets to do their job”, he asserted.
“Our current governance system is not effective. We are in serious trouble”, he emphasized.

Ruth Coker Collins is acting Public Works Minister is currently leading a team of engineers in Lofa County to recondition deplorable roads, ahead of the President’s visit in early June of 2021.
